You’ll hear from the others in the Ritter Community who are in the thick of it every day applying these principles to their training with their horses and getting crazy awesome results.
Here is what you can look forward to each month…
One New Riding Exercise each month.
Each of our exercises are biomechanically designed to help your horse develop his balance, straightness, suppleness, engagement, and throughness. But it can get boring if you find yourself getting stuck in a rut of only doing the same, old exercises over and over. At some point, you feel the need for some variety and inspiration, so each month we bring you a new exercise to add to your repertoire. We will explain not only what to do and what the exercise accomplishes in the training, but how you can ride it in a way that will be best suited for your horse right now. We teach you how to modify the exercise to make it easier or harder, depending upon what your horse needs, and we teach you how to embellish the exercise to bring other elements in. We also teach you how to trouble-shoot the various problems that you may encounter with the exercise. With these in mind, you set yourself and your horse up for the best possible results. These exercises are sure to become some of your favourite go-to’s! Each exercise comes with instructional video and downloadable PDF with full instructions.
One Group Coaching Hot seat each month.
Feedback is VITAL to making progress. We have seen this time and time again in our courses. The riders who regularly ask questions and get feedback on their riding videos are the ones that excel in their training. So we are now adding this element into EOTM. A Hot Seat session enables us to watch videos that the community has submitted, and we give feedback, tips, and help troubleshoot any problems that came up. This all happens on a Live Zoom webinar, they are always recorded so you can watch later, and you can learn through watching others EVEN if you do not submit your own videos (but we encourage you to, if you can!).
"Wine with Friends" Mindset Meetings each month.
What gets in your way in making progress in your riding? It is not always the technical issues. Often times, the real game changers are in the mental sphere and that is why we dedicate specific trainings just for topics around this. These are held as “meetings” where we are not lecturing to YOU, but we can hold a conversation together and everyone has a voice. Participation is optional, of course - you can attend and just listen. Whatever you feel most comfortable with!
Additional Trainings added periodically.
These can vary from masterclasses on topics like timing of the aids, shoulder-in, piaffe training, and long-reining. Interspersed throughout these are occasional commentary videos where we watch a recording of a famous rider or trainer and break down what is happening, what we see, and what you can learn by watching them! Variety stimulates learning and ideas! All trainings are always recorded, so you can watch as many times as you need and return to them whenever helpful. All previous trainings are always available in the archives!
The Ritterize Community.
Learning to ride can sometimes get lonely, particularly if you live in a non-Dressage area or feel like you’re the only rider at your barn who wants to train in a way aligned with Ritter values. But having the support of like-minded people who “get it” makes a world of difference. You may have already experienced (and fallen in love with) our generous and exuberant community in our other courses or challenges. They are a group of riders all over the world, committed to their and their horse’s progress, soundness, and happiness. Now you will be able to keep that awesomeness year-round, regardless of which course is in session, by tapping into our amazing Ritterize community. In this private, members-only community, you’ll have an amazing ecosystem of peers, trainers, assistant trainers, team members, and of course Thomas and Shana to help you make your riding goals a reality. (Formerly called EOTM)
Every single exercise and training since the membership started in 2017 is stored in the Vault and you will have access to ALL of it. Coming soon: new categorisation system so you can locate different trainings based on topic or level of difficulty (for horse AND for rider!). There is so much in here - you will never, ever be at a loss of something new and interesting to implement into your training!

This month in Ritterize: Learning to Feel and Practicing Non-judgement
This month in Ritterize, we are going to talk about Learning to Feel and Practicing Non-judgement. These two are related, so let me explain….
Our minds judge every experience around us. Every action, every reaction. We immediately attach some meaning to everything that happens, everything we see, and everything we do and think. Some things are judged as “good” so we cling to it and try to get more “good.” Some things are judged as “bad” so we resist and push these away. Eww, bad stuff go away! And then the remaining bits are just judged as “neutral” and are pretty much ignored.
It is human nature to judge, but sometimes this judging gets exhausting and it GETS IN OUR WAY to being able to be fully present in each here and now moment. But what if we could just go with the flow of things? What possibilities for discovery could open up for us if we did not immediately label things as good or bad? What if we kept a curious, open mind about EVERYTHING we experience, everything that happens in a ride, every response from the horse? How would this potentially RADICALLY transform your riding?
When we are stuck in the vicious cycle of labelling everything as good or bad, we cut off a whole dimension of experience. We also miss out on so much opportunity to FEEL. Many riders struggle with learning to feel. There is so much to feel and so many different ways to look at the concept of “feel” so we will explore this in June.
So this month in Ritterize, we begin with a discussion with book author, Nahshon Cook, about “Learning to Feel”. The general discussion will be public but there will be a exclusive members-only Q&A available to Ritterize members only.
The following week, we will be joined by Yvonne Lübcke for a discussion about Non-Judgement and how we can apply this principle to our riding, our horses, and ourselves. Then a week later we will meet again with Yvonne for our “Wine with Friends” meeting, giving all members a chance to discuss and share experiences around the principle of non-judgement as applies to riding.
We will close out the month with a hot seat session for this month’s exercise which is aptly named “Flow”. The exercise will be released on June 1st and is an exercise designed to help you develop your horse’s topline musculature and “go with the flow”.
I am so looking forward to this month in Ritterize. I hope you are, too!

Wait. I've got questions.
Yep, we thought so. We've got answers right here!
What is the difference between Ritterize Membership and EOTM?
What is the difference between a Ritter Course and the Ritterize Membership?
Will I still have access to my Ritter Courses if I join Ritterize?
How does this fit into the courses I am already taking?
Will I have access to Thomas and Shana?
I haven’t taken a Ritter course yet. Is this really right for me?
How long is the commitment?
What if I ride Western or bitless?
What if I can't watch the training sessions live?
I have a non-typical horse breed for Dressage (Icelandic, TWH, Quarter Horse, Standardbred, etc.) Can I still do this membership?
What equipment do I need?
Do I need any special program or software?
What’s the cancellation policy?
How do I sign up? What if I have payment problems?
